ABOUT SHEILA ROGERS: Bio
This is my golden opportunity to introduce myself to you. Briefly, I strive to help people reduce stress and tension in their bodies and minds so that they can lead vital, healthy, and productive lives. I do this mainly through the natural, manual modalities of Therapeutic Massage, Reflexology on the hands and feet. I believe in the body’s ability to heal itself and that massage therapy as well as reflexology is one of the many paths to restoring health and wholeness to the body. I believe in tailoring a massage towards the individual needs of each client by using multiple modalities to the best results possible.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages from teenager to the elderly. I also feel especially fortunate to have the opportunity to work with expecting mothers doing prenatal massage.
Regarding my credentials, I am a graduate of BSOM (Baltimore School of Massage/Steiner Education Group) and a member of the America Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). The State of Maryland Board Massage Therapy Examiners Dept. of Health Related Boards, has granted me the title of a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and Board Certified in Bodywork and Massage Therapy (BCTMB). In 2016 attended the Baltimore School of Reflexology and is Certified in hand and foot Reflexology by the ARCB (American Reflexology Certification Board) for the state of Maryland; earned her national board certification through the American Reflexology Certification Board in 2018. What this means for you is that I have met their stringent requirements as a professional in the health field and adhere to a high code of ethics. I have been qualified and certified by the Baltimore School of Reflexology. I have taken Basic and Advanced Reflexology Training having completed a 200 hour course of study, 100 case studies, and a comprehensive exam. CPR/First Aid Certified, American Red Cross. Full Compliance with HIPPA Regulations.
In my massage practices, I specialize in Swedish massage to De-stress and unwind during full body massage with light to medium pressure using a gentle technique with long strokes, kneading and circular movements to relax and energize the body. Perform Therapeutic massage targeting a specific area of the body. Also specializes in Deep Tissue massage which, is a deep slow more forceful stroke that concentrate on specific area of muscle tension and soreness due to strain or overwork muscles. Perform complete Foot and Leg massage which decreases stress and allows the circulation of blood to flow unimpeded and releasing any blockages that can hold back energy that should be flowing through the body freely. Total Body stretching method that helps with flexibility, mobility and performance helping the client reach farther than before and feeling healthier.
